Progressive Youth, Inc. (PYI) has provided quality services to Utah youth and their families since 1996. Our programs service youth in the custody of the State of Utah, Division of Child and Family Services or Division of Juvenile Justice Services.
Progressive Youth, Inc. has two sex-specific Residential Treatment Programs designed for cognitively impaired adolescent males, ages 12-18, who need to learn more appropriate ways to cope with stressors in their lives. Although we deal with sexual issues, we also address conduct disorder, anger and aggression, and deficits in social skills and independent living skills. The youth will also have opportunities to gain vocational and educational training, complete various community service projects, and participate in individual, group, and family therapy.
Progressive Youth, Inc. also has a Transitional Independent Living Program designed for males, ages 17 to 21, who are transitioning from residential treatment centers, wilderness programs, or therapeutic boarding schools. Our program provides a structured, therapeutic, community based environment that focuses on providing real-world experiences to prepare young adults to live independently. Residents live in a newly remodeled historic 13-unit apartment building with community advisors and clinical staff to provide one-on-one counseling, support services, and links to community resources.
Our team of clinical professionals also provide outpatient therapeutic services, as needed, for youth after they leave our residential programs.
